CATS is a mixed doubles league that offers fun both on and off the courts with year-round tennis and social events. Founded in 1969, CATS is Chicago’s oldest tennis club!
CATS members play indoors at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness on Wednesday nights from 9-11 PM in Fall, Winter/Spring and Summer Sessions. Teams are divided into three levels so players of most skill levels can find a fit. Social events include tennis round-robins and outings to professional sports events.

New F2 Coordinator: John Fitzgerald has stepped down as Flight 2 Coordinator, and the Board of Directors has selected Steve Heisler to fill his position. If you’re a Flight 2 player or captain and require assistance, Steve can be reached at theheis@gmail.com.
Carolyn Popp has retired as CATS’ treasurer, and Flight 2 player Julie Brandt has stepped in. Carolyn was elected treasurer in 2011 and has served since, collecting membership and court fees, paying bills, and keeping track of CATS’ finances. For the last few months, Julie has been easing into the treasurer role. Read more.
Zelle Account, 11/27/24: Effective immediately, the new address for CATS’ Zelle account is catstennistreas@gmail.com.
ID Cards: Lakeshore has created ID cards for CATS members who joined CATS within the last two years. If that’s you, please ask at for your card at the front desk the next time you play. If you have been in CATS longer and do not have a card for whatever reason, please let Jo Ellen Reed know.
