CATS is a coed doubles league that offers fun both on and off the courts with year-round tennis and social events.

CATS members play indoors at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness on Wednesday nights from 9-11 PM in Fall, Winter/Spring and Summer Sessions. Teams are divided into C, B, A and Open Levels so players of most skill levels can find a fit. Social events include tennis round-robins and outings to professional sports events.

Fall Kick-off Party, Saturday, September 15: An annual tradition since we moved to Lakeshore: round robin tennis inside, followed by dinner, drinks and prizes on Lakeshore’s fabulous roof top.

Holiday Party, Saturday, December 1:
Celebrate the season at our annual holiday party at Lake Shore Sport & Fitness. Details TBD.

Change in CATS board members: Karen Topp, who had been CATS vice-president, will succeed Jose Valle as the coordinator of the A Division. Michael Fox has become the vice-president and so is now responsible for distributing prizes to winning team members. This was approved at the July meeting of the CATS Board.

Court Fees: Starting with the Fall 2018 Session, the nightly court fee for the Open Division will be $15.50; for all other divisions, $15. This was approved at the July meeting of the CATS Board.

Dean Carson’s memorial service:
Dean’s service will take place on Saturday August 25 at 1 PM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 616 Lake Street, Evanston. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the lower level of the church. Check website for directions and parking: Dean served as CATS’ president twice and was active in CATS until just a couple years ago. He took his tennis seriously but was light-hearted and funny. Read the tribute to Dean written by CATS’ Historian John Wagner.

Renew now for 2018-19: Renew your CATS membership before August 31 and save $5. Click here for the membership form.

Rules Change: Effective April 25, there will be no switching players at 10:45. The new rule for all divisions reads: “Follow normal rotation unless there is a tie-breaker, then each captain may chose which players to play in the tie-breaker. Service rotation is not altered.” If you have questions about this, please talk to your team captain or division coordinator.

Members-only section: This area of the website includes the member directory, division schedules, team lists and sub lists for each division, the prize list and more.
